MORE RECYCLING FACTS

Okay, Meyera, I will not be emotional about my blue recycling box. I do agree that I must be educated on your decision.

Here are a few areas in which I would like to be educated:

What revenues are you generating from your existing drop-off program?

What capital costs are you going to incur to expand the program?

What level of participation are you projecting for your new program? Is it realistic?

Considering the income your program is generating, what level of participation do you need to break even?

How much more solid waste will be placed in the landfill based upon projected non-participation?

Why hasn't the ``special'' plant been built? Is SPSA that incompetent or has one particular member of the SPSA board been skillfully erecting bureaucratic roadblocks?

Why weren't the citizens of Virginia Beach allowed the opportunity to address this issue at a public meeting?

I don't have the answers. I do have a vote in Tuesday's election.
