James Harley Jamison, 80, of the 900 block of Sacony St., died May 2, 1996, in a Portsmouth hospital.
Mr. Jamison, a native of Franklin County, Va., retired from Portsmouth Naval Hospital as a firefighter. He was a member of Holy Communion Lutheran Church, Portsmouth.
Survivors include his wife, Bertha L. Howe Jamison; two daughters, Connie Hardy of Durham, N.C., and Mary Ann Jamison of Corpus Christi, Texas; a son, James D. Jamison Sr. of Portsmouth; a stepdaughter, Jeanette H. Galuska of Portsmouth; a sister, Frances Fisher of Vinton, Va.; five grandchildren; a stepdaughter; and 10 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday by Dr. Dennis D. Buchholz and the Rev. Otis Zirkle in Holy Communion Lutheran Church. Entombment will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, today from 7 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the church.
