Thelma Ruth Melvin, 76, of the 1500 block of Campostella Road, formerly of the 500 block of Delaware Ave., Virginia Beach, a devoted wife and loving mother, passed into eternity on April 28, 1996. She was born in Plastico, Va.
She is survived by her husband, Clifton ``Buck'' Melvin Jr.; one son, William N. Allen of Chesapeake; one sister, Mary Roberts of Abingdon, Va.; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Hope Calvo of Richmond, Walter Scott Allen of Chesapeake Beach, Md., Shannon Sumner of Chesapeake, and Shawn Allen of Chesapeake; and nine great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at Calvary Temple Church by Pastor Lemar Semtell at 5639 Brickell Road, Norfolk, on Saturday, May 4, at 2 p.m.
