HONORS, AWARDS
Dr. Robert K. Heide, a Norfolk internist, received the 1996 Virginia Society of Internal Medicine's Distinguished Internist of the Year Award.
Heide received the honor for contributions to the Virginia Society of Internal Medicine, a component of the American Society of Internal Medicine. He joined the organization in 1971 and served as chairman of the Laboratory Committee for the American Society of Internal Medicine in 1993-94, a program to establish laboratory standards that are of high quality. He was also former president of the organization from 1978-80.
Varian Ion Implant Systems of Gloucester, Mass., said Career Marketing Consultants of Virginia Beach will receive a supplier recognition award.
