Lela Craven Wadsworth, 88, of the 400 block of S. Main St., died May 5, 1996, in Roanoke Chowan Hospital.
Mrs. Wadsworth was born in Wilkes County and was a member of First Baptist Church of Lewiston. She was a homemaker and the widow of Van Perry Wadsworth.
Survivors include a daughter, Janet Wadsworth McLawhorn of Chesapeake; three sons, Bennie Wadsworth of Manteo, Alvin Wadsworth of Williamston and Howard Wadsworth of Ahoskie; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Garrett Funeral Home, Ahoskie, by the Rev. Blake Hayes. Burial will be in Hoggard Memorial Cemetery, Lewiston. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and will assemble there at 1 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service. Memorial donations may be made to the Lewiston-Woodville Rescue Squad, Lewiston-Woodville, N.C. 27849.
