WHAT HAPPENS when the leading lady for a new Broadway show twists her ankle and can't go on? Here's what: The old babe has to move over for a fresh new face. ``42nd Street,'' a hit musical since it premiered in 1933, is getting its own face freshened with a new production by students of the Governor's School for the Arts, opening at 8 p.m. Thursday at the Wells Theater, Monticello Avenue at Tazewell Street, in downtown Norfolk. The show, featuring tap dancing and hummable tunes, continues at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $8. Call 441-2905 for reservations. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
