Helen B. Chelf, 63, of the 1500 block of Eagle Ave., died May 8, 1996, at DePaul Medical Center.
She is survived by her husband, Winston Chelf; two daughters, Cynthia Hodges and her husband, Donnie, of Fresno, Calif., and Christine Garrett and her husband, Christopher, of Newport News; a son, Winston P. Chelf of Sacramento, Calif.; five granddaughters; and a grandson.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 25, 1996, by the Rev. Steven Cronn at Third Presbyterian Church, 8065 Carlton St., Norfolk. She donated her body to the Anatomical Division of The Virginia Department of Health. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations may be made to the Memorial Fund, Third Presbyterian Church, or a charity of one's choice. Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is in charge.
