Ethel Norene Casper Bazemore Spada, 74, of Route 1, and formerly of Brooklyn, N.Y., died Saturday, May 11, 1996, in her home.
Mrs. Spada was born in Gates County. The daughter of the late Cape C. and Mrs. Jeannette Smith Casper, she was a retired waitress. She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church in Brooklyn and was the wife of the late Marco Jsoeph Spada.
Surviving are two daughters, Carol B. Ellis of Sedley and Loretta J. Parker of Sunbury; one son, Daniel S. Bazemore of Eure; four sisters, Gladys C. Baugham and Iona C. Phelps, both of Ahoskie, Florence C. Wall of Winton and Charlotte C. Cherry of Greenwood, S.C; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Cool Spring Baptist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Horace Culpepper. Friends may join the family from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home, Gatesville, and other times at the home of her son. Memorial contributions may be made to Roanoke-Chowan Hospice, P.O. Box 272, Ahoskie, N.C. 27910 or to Cool Spring Baptist Church, Route 1, Box 38, Eure, N.C. 27935.
