Elmer Lessell ``Puddin'' Brooks, 69, of the 600 block of Tuskegee Ave., died May 11, 1996, in Chesapeake General Hospital.
He was a retired diesel operator for Borden Chemical Company, Chesapeake, where he had worked for 40 years. He was a native of Norfolk County, Va. and a member of Galilee Baptist Church, Chesapeake.
He is survived by his wife, Willow Mae Brooks; two daughters, Dorothy Moseley and Jacqueline Stukes of Chesapeake; son, Eugene Spates of Chesapeake; four sisters, Beatrice King, Audrey Green, Arlethia Wood and Jocelyn Wood of Chesapeake; three brothers, Joseph Brooks, Edward Brooks, and Clifton Pierce of Chesapeake; and five grandchildren including Travis Moseley of Chesapeake, whom he raised.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday by the Rev. Anderson Foreman in Galilee Baptist Church, Chesapeake. Burial is in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Fitchett Funeral Home is in charge.
