George Claud Williford Jr., 84, of the 900 block of Martin Ave., died May 17, 1996, in Suffolk.
He was a retired machinist for the Norfolk Naval Shipyard and a member of the Portsmouth Moose Lodge (NU)898. Mr. Williford was born in Berkley, Va.
He is survived by by his wife, Annie M. Williford; three daughters, Shirley Staley of New Bern, N.C., Joan Wood and Barbara Hulbert, both of Portsmouth; a son, George C. Williford III of Clearwater, Fla.; a sister, Minnie Adams of Chesapeake; a brother, Charlie Williford also of Chesapeake; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Olive Branch Cemetery by the Rev. Tom Potter. The family will receive friends at the Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, today from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
