Frances P. ``Fran'' Sykes, 70, a resident of Luther Manor, died May 15, 1996, in her residence.
She was a native of Sunbury, N.C., and the widow of Lonnie Ray Sykes Sr. Mrs. Sykes was a member of First United Methodist Church of Norfolk. She was a member of Luther Manor Residents Council and a very active participant in all the social events and functions.
She is survived by a son, Lonnie R. ``Pete'' Sykes Jr. of Norfolk; five sisters-in-law, Thelma Sykes of Norfolk, Margaret Pope of Norfolk, Alice Spencer, and her husband, Joseph Spencer of Chesapeake, Lib Womack, and her husband, Vernon Womack of Farmville, and Evelyn Norwood of Palm Bay, Fla.; and a brother, James Robert Parker, and his wife, Frances Parker, of Virginia Beach. She was predeceased by her parents, Mattie Belle and Isaac Raymond Parker.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. today by the Rev. Robert A. Edwards in Holloman-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel. Burial is in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
