James Langwood Oglesby, 45, died Friday May 17, 1996, in a Dare County medical facility.
Mr. Oglesby, a native of Savannah, Ga., was a long distance truck driver. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church of Manns Harbor, N.C. He was the son of the late Woodrow Wilson Oglesby Sr. and the late Jenny Mae Helmly Oglesby.
Mr. Oglesby is survived by his wife, Patricia Justice Oglesby of the home; four sisters, Lenice Burris of Rincon, Ga., Mary Kieffer of Springfield, Ga., Jeanelle Henley of Winchester, Tenn., and Janice Miller of Guyton, Ga.; a brother, Woodrow W. Oglesby Jr. of Springfield; 20 nieces and nephews; and four great-nieces and great-nephews.
The funeral will be held at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church in Manns Harbor, N.C., Monday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Jim Tosto. Burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Twiford's Funeral Home, Manteo, N.C., today from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
