Willie Milner Privott of the 3900 block of Llewellyn Ave., died May 17, 1996.
A native of Danville, Va., she retired as a Norfolk public school teacher after 30 years. She was the wife of the late Edward M. Privott. She was a member of Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church, Chesapeake; former member of the Deaconess Board; Missionary Society; Sunday School teacher; and conductor of Prayer Service meetings at the Shepherd Way Home for the Aged, First Baptist Church Bute Street. She was a former member of the Leisure Hour Club of the YWCA. She also held memberships in the Virginia State Teachers Association and the National Education Association. She was a graduate of Virginia State College, Petersburg. She was the daughter of the late Souvenia and George Milner.
Survivors include a son, George W. Privott of Washington, D.C.; and three devoted friends, Shirley Valentine, Archie Vann and Helen Moore.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Tuesday in Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church, Chesapeake, by the Rev. Donald Taylor. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends will assemble at Hale Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday for the funeral procession. The remains will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. Tuesday. It is requested that contributions be made to Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church Building Fund in lieu of flowers.
