Hannah E. Thompson, 89, of Marian Manor, died May 19, 1996, in a Norfolk hospital.
She worked as a teacher for 35 years until her retirement. She taught in France, Germany and the United Kingdom for 10 years. She was born in Ohio and the widow of Theron T. Thompson. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church and was a member of the Ohio Retired Teachers Association.
She is survived by a daughter, Shirley L. Lee of Virginia Beach; a son and his wife, T. Theodore Thompson and Opal Thompson of N. Augusta, S.C.; four grandchildren, Jeffrey P. Lankford, Kelly Kaizer, Tread Thompson and Stephanie Ghingold; and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday by the Rev. Paul L. Kettner in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel. Burial will be private and at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation, 1501 N.W. 9th Ave., Bob Hope Road, Miami, Fla., 33136.
