Fred Evan Lemmond, 92, of the 100 block of Gray Lane, died May 20, 1996, at Riverside Regional Convalescent Center.
Mr. Lemmond was born in West Norfolk, Va., and was employed as a cable splicer with C & P Telephone Company with 47 years of service and retired in 1969. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and also Peninsula Life Member Club of the Telephone Pioneers. He was a member of the Campers Association of Tidewater and A.A.R.P. He was a member of Lafayette Presbyterian Church, Norfolk, and a member of the Men's Bible Class.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Farrell Lemmond; a daughter, Marian L. Mitchell and husband, Bobbie H. of Grafton, Va.; two granddaughters, Luanna Wilton of Mechanicsville, Va., and Laura Blau of Hampton, Va.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, by the Rev. Max G. Culler and Rev. Nancy Hayes. Burial will follow in Riverside Memorial Park, Norfolk.
