Lumsden M. Bennett died May 5, 1996.
The widow of Thomas York Bennett, she was born in Hyde County, N.C., Jan. 26, 1913. She lived in Chesapeake until moving to Clovis in 1974, where she died on May 5.
Her son, Fletcher Bennett, died in 1989 and she is survived by a daughter, Alice Wilder; a brother, Lewis Manning; a sister, Emma Barrow; and two granddaughters, Karen Wilder Bushey and Jennifer Bennett.
She was a member of Central Christian Church, 14th St., Clovis, N.M. 88101, and donations can be made to the church in lieu of flowers. The family will be at the home of Karen Wilder Bushey at 2200 Dinwiddie Road, Virginia Beach after the services. Gravesides services will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Chesapeake at 1 p.m. Thursday.
