Telephone numbers in local county government offices have been changed so that residents in the Smithfield (357, 365) and Carrollton (238) calling areas can call direct by dialing ``365'' plus the extension.
Residents outside of the direct calling area still must call the following numbers: 255-4044 (Chuckatuck/Suffolk); 242-6114 (Windsor/ Zuni); 562-3275 (Franklin/Carrs-ville/Courtland). If you do go through the switchboard, it will help to have the new extension number for the correct department.
