Howard J. Jackson, 77, died May 22, 1996, in a local hospital.
Mr. Jackson, a chief warrant officer W4, joined the U.S. Navy in 1938 and retired after 28 years. He was a native of Duluth, Minn., and a member of Fleet Reserve Branch (NU)60, Retired Officer's Association, and DAV Chapter (NU)4. He was a veteran of World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce B. Jackson; two daughters, Kathleen Bogosian of Virginia Beach, Donna B. Darden of Charlottesville, Va.; two sisters, Helen Krenz of Mora, Minn., Hildure Erickson of Duluth; three brothers, Hilding Jackson of Duluth, Everett Jackson and Carl Jackson, both of Cloquet, Minn.; and four grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Roberta Jackson.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. today in Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is in charge.
