Janet Gayle Hartley Blaylock, 38, of the 100 block of Ashley Road, died May 24, 1996, in her residence.
She was a former licensed practical nurse of Norfolk General and the Kings Daughters. She was a native of New Bern, N.C., and the widow of Eugene Edwin Blaylock. She was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church.
She is survived by two sons, Jason Eugene Blaylock and Stephen James Blaylock, both of Chesapeake; her parents, James Hartley Jr. and Lyllis Freeman Hartley of New Bern; three sisters, Sheryl Ogle of New Bern and Ellen Ireland and Melanie Lane, both of Chesapeake; brother, James C. Hartley III of Chesapeake; maternal grandmother, Mae Belle Freeman of New Bern; paternal grandmother, Maggie Hartley of New Bern; and companion Ron Kucharski of Chesapeake.
A funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m today by Father Christian Haydinger in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel. Burial will be in Greenleaf Memorial Park, New Bern, at 3 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Jerry English officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Education Fund for Jason and Stephen Blaylock c/o James C. Hartley III, 1435 Butts Station Road, Chesapeake 23320.
