Ruth Laughinghouse McCraney, 76, of the 2500 block of Barclay Ave., died May 25, 1996, in a Portsmouth hospital.
Ms. McCraney, a native of Columbia, N.C., retired from Naval Air Rework Facility as a secretary and retired from Avon Products as district manager after 20 years of service. She was a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Portsmouth.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathryn M. Pruden of Suffolk; two sons, William R. McCraney Jr. of Suffolk, Donald Kent McCraney of Hartwood, Va.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, will be by the Rev. Richard Holley. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
