GEORGE F. PARSONS

George Francis Parsons of ``Arlington,'' Northampton County, Va., died Friday, May 24, 1996, at the Northampton-Accomack Memorial Hospital.

He was the son of Margaret Lee Willis and Frank Parsons Jr., both of Northampton County. Mr. Parsons was a life-long member of the Capeville United Methodist Church, the Cape Charles Rotary Club with 60 years recognition, the Society of the Cincinnati serving as a former member of its Standing Committee, and an alumnus of Washington and Lee University. He served as an officer in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was a former member of the Northampton County School Board and of the Board of Directors of the Northampton-Accomack Memorial Hospital.

Surviving are Mr. Parsons' wife, Charlye Kennerly Parsons; three nephews, Charles William Dickinson IV of Machipongo, Va., Frank Parsons Dickinson of Gunnison, Colo., and Willis Hunt Dickinson of Endwell, N.Y.; and seven grandnieces.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Monday at ``Arlington'' followed by entombment in the family mausoleum at the Cape Charles Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the NAM Hospital, Nassawadox, Va. 23413, or to any other charity of choice. Wilkins-Doughty Funeral Home, Cape Charles, is handling arrangements.
