JESSICA R. GLASSER

Jessica Rachel Glasser died at age 22 on May 24, 1996.

She was an honor graduate of Norfolk Academy and recipient of their senior Poetry Award. She recently graduated magna cum laude in women's studies from Emory University in Atlanta, where she was a member of the Alpha Epsilon Phi sorority, editorials editor for the school newspaper, The Emory Wheel, and president of Pi Sigma Alpha, the national honor society in political science. She was planning to attend the University of Virginia Law School in the fall.

She is survived by her sister, Hara Brooke Glasser; her father and mother, Richard and Jane Ellen Glasser; her stepmother, Landa Lavenstein Glasser; her grandmother, Rose Frances Glasser; her grandfather, Malcolm M. Lishnoff; her aunts and uncles, Lori and Michael Glasser, Sarah Jo and Stuart Glasser, Jane Susan and Joe S. Frank of Hampton Roads; and her aunt and uncle Yvette A. Geary and Robert Astrowsky of New York.

Her funeral will take place at Ohef Sholom Temple at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, 1996 conducted by Rabbi Lawrence A. Forman. A burial service will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will be available at the home of Richard Glasser after the service.

Jessica was an avid champion of women's issues. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to the National Organization for Women in Washington, D.C., or to The Bernard and Rose Frances Glasser Philanthropic Fund of the United Jewish Federation of Tidewater.
