Julia M. Kangas, 88, formerly of the 100 block of W. Bayview Blvd., died May 25, 1996.
Mrs. Kangas, a retired bookkeeper, was the widow of August Kangas. She was born in Robersonville, N.C., and was a Baptist. She was the daughter of the late John S. and Susan R. Griffin.
Survivors include a daughter, Mirabell Hinson of Knotts Island, N.C.; a sister, Nellie Byrd and her husband, Adrian of Florida; two brothers, Joseph Griffin and his wife, Beatrice, and Lee Edward Griffin and his wife, Gloria, all of North Carolina; a sister-in-law, Mae Griffin, the widow of brother, John B. Griffin; several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date with time and place to be announced. Her body was cremated as per her request. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, is in charge.
