Esther Dixon Beale, 91, of 114 North St., died May 24, 1996, in Riverside Convalescent Center in Smithfield.
She was a native of Isle of Wight County and the daughter of the late John Dixon and Rosa Turner Dixon. She was the widow of John A. Beale. She was a member of Whiteheads Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Aileen Litchfield of Chesapeake and Dorothy King of Suffolk; two sons, John A. Beale Jr. of Smithfield and Rudy Beale of Boynton Beach, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home by the Rev. Paul Eure and the Rev. Donald Rhoten with burial in Newman Memorial Cemetery in Chuckatuck. The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the funeral home and at other times at 114 North St. Memorial donations may be made to the Isle of Wight Rescue Squad, 1802A S.
