Mary Emerson Givens, 73, of the 300 block of Malibu Drive, died May 23, 1996.
Mrs. Givens, the widow of John E. Givens, was born in Pittsburgh, Pa. She was a member of Church of the Holy Family. She loved animals and crocheting.
Survivors include a grandson and his wife, William and Karen Emerson of Virginia Beach; three great-grandchildren, Deniesha, Paris, and William II; a god daughter, Christine Austin and her children, Camelsha, Jermy and Christian; three nephews, James Woodfolk, Richard Woodfolk, and Woodrow Woodfolk, all of Charlottesville. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Roberta Maxine Emerson of Charlottesville.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel. Burial will be in Colonial Grove Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
