Ida Pitman Hertzig, of 3810 Atlantic Ave., died at home on May 27, 1996.
She was born on Dec. 31, 1925 in Dunn, N.C. Ida attended the College of Notre Dame in Baltimore. She was a member of the Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Virginia Beach.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Warren Hertzig; and a son, Richard Mikesell Hertzig. She is survived by her husband of 51 years Capt. R. Dolan Hertzig and her brother, George Warren Pitman of 3810 Atlantic Ave., Virginia Beach.
A Funeral Mass will be said at the Star of the Sea Catholic Church on Thursday at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Dunn, N.C. at the Greenwood Cemetery on Friday at 11 a.m. There will be a visitation in the funeral home today from 7 to 9 a.m. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, are handling arrangements.
