Rosa L. Cabaniss, 89, of 648 Carolina Road, died May 30, 1996, in Manning Convalescent Home, Portsmouth.
She was the widow of Thomas G. Cabaniss and a member of Suffolk Pentecostal Holiness Church. Mrs. Cabaniss was a native of Gates County, N.C. but resided in Suffolk for about 70 years. She was also an Avon Representative for over 50 years.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Julia C. Droves of Suffolk; a sister, Mrs. Annie B. Goodwin of Cofield, N.C.; a granddaughter, Patricia A. Droves of Stafford County, Va.; a stepgranddaughter, Shirley B. Ivie of Baxley, Ga.; and three nieces, Mrs. Dorothy B. Liverman of Cofield, Mrs. Mary L. Councill of Gates, N.C., and Mrs. Aleine B. Rountree of Virginia Beach.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Harrell Funeral Home, Suffolk, by the Rev. Daniel J. Campbell and the Rev. Charles W. Thompson. Burial will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery, Suffolk. Memorials may be made to the Nansemond Suffolk Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 1515, Suffolk, Va. 23439 or to the Suffolk Pentecostal Holiness Church, 100 Kilby Shores Drive, Suffolk, Va. 23434. The family will receive friends at the residence.
