Anna E. Yoder, 81, of the 2500 block of Land of Promise Road, died Monday, June 3, 1996, in her residence.
Mrs. Yoder was born in Grantsville, Md., and was the daughter of the late Ezra and Savilla Beachy Yoder. She was also predeceased by a son, John E. Yoder; and three brothers, Rufus E. Yoder, Walter E. Yoder, and her twin, Irvin E. Yoder. She was a member of the Mount Pleasant Mennonite Church in Chesapeake.
Survivors include her husband, Menno J. Yoder, whom she married on Dec. 22, 1940; her daughter, Dorothy J. Brangan of Virginia Beach; her five sons, Clifford W. Yoder of Meigs, Ga., Willie J. Yoder, Leon D. Yoder, James W. Yoder and Morris W. Yoder, all of Chesapeake; a sister, Sarah Yoder, also of Chesapeake; a brother, Christian Yoder of Grantsville, Md.; three half-sisters, Elsie Schrock, also of Grantsville, Frieda Yoder of Mount Joy, Pa. and Pauline Schrock of Fairfax, Va.; two half-brothers, Floyd Yoder of Bittinger, Md. and Cloyd Yoder of Salisbury, Pa.; her stepsister, Elizabeth Yoder of Myersdale, Pa.; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Mount Pleasant Mennonite Church, Chesapeake, by the Rev. Harold Bergey. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge, today from 7 to 9 p.m.
