James Campbell Causey III, 67, of 881 Carolina Road, died June 3, 1996.
A native of Suffolk, he was the son of the late Margaret Jordan and James Campbell Causey Jr. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and Clan Urquhart Association. He was a retired engineer with Blair Brothers, a past commander of the Nansemond River Power Squadron and past president of the Virginia Fox Hunters Association, and for 20 years, he was an active 4-H leader.
Survivors include his wife, Carole Humphrey Causey; four daughters, Elizabeth Causey Burgess of Crozet, Anne Beverly Causey of Sterling, Carolyn Causey Peebles and Jeanne Causey Miller, both of Charlottesville; a stepdaughter, Wendy Hamann Mintz of Oakton; four stepsons, Richard Allen Hamann of Virginia Beach, Michael Scott Hamann of Tappahannock, Douglas Ryan Hamann of Springfield, David Paul Swain of Richmond; a sister, Margaret Causey Brown of Suffolk; and a niece, Margaret Jordan Brown of Suffolk ; four granddaughters; and a grandson.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in St. Paul's Episcopal Church by the Rev. H. Vance Mann III. The family will be at the home. Memorial donations may be made to Nansemond Suffolk Rescue Squad, St. Paul's Episcopal Church or to the American Cancer Society. R.W. Baker and Co. Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
