CECIL KENDRICK

Cecil Kendrick, U.S. Navy (ret.), 71, of the 700 block of Henlock Crescent, died in his home on Tuesday June 4, 1996.

Mr. Kendrick was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in World War II, the Korean Conflict and Vietnam. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Assc., Kempsville Branch (NU)99, and was also a past national chaplain of the Fleet Reserve Assc.

Mr. Kendrick is survived by his wife, Jean M. Kendrick of Virginia Beach; a daughter by marriage, Carol Jane Brown of Oxford, Pa.; two brothers, Gene Kendrick and Charlie Kendrick, both of Pontiac, Mich.; two sisters, Dorothy Bates of Freeport, Fla., and Maxine Kendrick of Pikeville, Ky.; two grandchildren, Ricky Lee Weaver and Cindy Clark, both of Oxford, Pa.; and four beloved great-grandchildren, Jimmy, Joshua and Justin Clark, all of Oxford, and Rick Weaver of North Carolina.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Kellum Funeral Home, Rosewood Chapel, Virginia Beach, with a Fleet Reserve Assc. ritual/memorial service conducted at 7:30 p.m. The burial will be held at later date in Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sentara Leigh Hospice or to the American Cancer Society.
