SIX TO VIE FOR TITLE OF `MISS JUNIOR COTILLION'

Six girls will vie for the title of ``Miss Junior Cotillion'' tonight at 8 at Waters Junior High School, 600 Roosevelt Blvd.

The event for elementary and middle school girls is sponsored annually by the Alpha Chi Chapter of Phi Delta Kappa Inc.

This year's contestants are:

Ashlee Shavon Astrop, 10, daughter of Mary Astrop. Ashlee attends Highland Biltmore Elementary School and enjoys dancing.

Kimberly T. Bowers, 12, daughter of Kenneth M. and Gracie T. Bowers. Kimberly attends Churchland Middle School and enjoys band, ballet, reading and bowling.

Benee' Lurene Durham, 11, daughter of Bessie R. Durham. Benee' attends Lakeview Elementary School and enjoys singing, piano and reading.

Chianti Monique McBride, 7, daughter of Ronald and Linda McBride. Chianti attends New Discipleship Christian Academy and enjoys singing, dancing and watching videos.

Antionesha Lynette Merritt, 6, daughter of Brenda and Owen Merritt. Antionesha attends Highland Biltmore Elementary School and enjoys singing and dancing.

Tamara Andrea Thacker, 10, daughter of Nadine and Preston Thacker. Tamara attends St. Helena Elementary School and enjoys singing, dancing, piano and jumping rope. ILLUSTRATION: Photos
