Evelyn V. Andrews, 70, of the 2000 block of Effingham St., died June 5, 1996.
Mrs. Andrews, the widow of Raymond Andrews, was a native of Norfolk County. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, St. Julian Creek, Chesapeake. She was also a member of the senior choir, missionary circle, senior citizens club, hospitality club, and a deaconess. She was a member of J.R. Gidden Tents.
Survivors include four daughters, Carolyn Bethea, Linda Davis, Evette Boone, Glenna Manley; a son, Willie L. Gary Jr.; two sisters, Doretha Goodman and Rosa Lee Copeland; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday by the Rev. Sidney Foster in New Hope Baptist Church. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Hampton. Fisher Funeral Home is in charge. The family will be at the residence. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
