Barbara J. Grace, 58, of the 600 block of Arch Cove Court, died June 6, 1996, in Sentara Leigh Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Grace, a devoted homemaker, was born in Norfolk and educated in the Norfolk Public School System. She was a 1955 graduate of Booker T. Washington High School. She was a longtime volunteer with the American Red Cross, Tidewater Chapter.
She is survived by a devoted husband of 39 years, Mr. Edward Grace, of the home; two daughters, Yvette Grace Brown of Suffolk, and Renee Langford of Norfolk; two sons, Edward Jr. and Barry Grace, both of Norfolk; her mother, Katie G. Moore of Norfolk; a sister, Niomi Walker of Norfolk; a son-in-law, Effion Brown of Suffolk; a daughter-in-law, Nanette Grace of Portsmouth; four grandchildren, Venise Curry, Ryan Grace, Gary Skinner, and Anthony Grace; and a host of nieces, nephews, and devoted friends.
The funeral will be conducted at noon Monday by the Rev. Alfred Hall at Riddick Funeral Service, Norfolk. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be held Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m., and at other times at her residence. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
