Gertrude E. Ward, 76, of the 900 block of Eastern Shore Road, died June 7, 1996, in Virginia Beach.
Mrs. Ward was a native of San Dimas, Calif. She was a graduate with honors from the Norfolk Divison of William and Mary, and was a retired schoolteacher. She taught in the Norfolk and Virginia Beach School Systems for more than 30 years, 19 of which were at Princess Anne High School.
Survivors include her husband, Fred G. Ward; a daughter, Sharon, and her husband, Myron Mitchell, of Cleveland, Ohio; two sisters, JoAnne Meade of Rogue River, Ore., Carolyn Perry of North Las Vegas, Nev.; and a grandson, Roger Mitchell.
Services will be private. Colonial Crematorium submitted information.
