Alvin M. Jaiser Jr., 65, died June 5, 1996, in Chicago.
Mr. Jaiser was born in Norfolk and was retired from the Chicago Tribune. He was a former employee of The Virginian-Pilot and The Ledger-Star and was an Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen E. Ney, his father, Alvin M. Jaiser Sr., and a son, Alvin M. Jaiser III.
Survivors include his wife, Jacqueline E. Jaiser of Chesapeake; two daughters, Vicki Cornelius Daniels of Chesapeake and Cynthia K. DeSilvester of Virginia Beach; his stepmother, Eula M. Jaiser of Moyock, N.C.; a sister, Margaret Ann Connelley of Virginia Beach; a stepsister, Millie Maddox of Moyock; a brother, Michael H. Ney of Virginia Beach; a stepbrother, William Butts of Virginia Beach; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. today at the home of his daughter, Cynthia DeSilvester, 1004 Banyan Drive, Virginia Beach, by the Rev. Joseph Brewer. Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel, provided information. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
