James J. ``Joy Boy'' Myers, of the 1400 block of W. 40th St., died June 8, 1996, in his home.
Mr. Myers, a native of Norfolk, was a self-employed entrepreneur. Survivors include four daughters, Darlene Steed, Denise Stalling, both of Norfolk, Terry Buffalow of Chesapeake and Deborah R. Myers of Woodbridge, Va.; three sons, Joseph V. Myers of Puerto Rico, James Myers Jr. of Alexandria and Anthony W. Myers of Norfolk; his mother, Mary Mattie Martin of Norfolk; a brother, Charles E. Parker of North Carolina; 16 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held Thursday at noon in Carlos A. Howard Funeral Chapel with Bishop Anthony Moses officiating. The remains were cremated. The family will gather at the chapel at 11:45 a.m. Thursday.
