Luther J. Seely Sr., 77, died June 9, 1996.
A native of Puerto Rico, he had lived in Poquoson for 35 years. He retired from Newport News Shipbuilding X18 Welders in 1985 after 44 years. He was a member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church, Poquoson, and Holloway-Moore American Legion Post (NU)273, Poquoson. Mr. Seely was a Navy veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Eleanor E. Seely; sons and daughters-in-law, Luther J. and Sharon Seely Jr., Nelson R. and Frances Seely, Ronald W. Seely, David A. and Linda Seely; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda J. and Delbert Fox, Rhonda S. and Arnie Smith; sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Lamar Williams; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four step-grandchildren. You are our angel amongst us Daddy, Granddaddy and Great-Granddaddy.
A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. today at Tabernacle United Methodist Church by Rev. Dick Helveston and Rev. Henry Sudduth. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Park, Hampton. Memorial contributions may be made to Tabernacle United Methodist Church Building Fund, 831 Poquoson Avenue, Poquoson, Va. 23662.
