Artists Rebecca Kamen and Peggy Feerick will display their collaborative project of sculpture and photography, ``Vessels of Self-Reflection'' beginning today at the Arts Center on the corner of Court and High streets.
The exhibit explores the concept of ``self'' as a vessel: a container that houses the soul and is affected by different life experiences. Using Kamen's sculpture to create a variety of environments, Feerick photographs the subject matter to allow it to ``re-appear'' as something else.
In addition to the collaborative project, Kamen will exhibit her one-person show, ``Rebecca Kamen: Rites of Passage.'' Her 3-D abstractions and drawings explore the insightful experience of loss.
Kamen will present a slide/lecture about the evolution of her 3-D abstractions and the process of collaboration at 10 a.m. June 28 in the TCC Visual Arts Center, room 209, 304 High St. The free lecture is part of the docent orientation program. Reservations are required.
An opening reception for the artists will be held in a joint celebration with the traveling exhibition ``Reencuentros: Latin Heritage in the northwest of the U.S.A.'' from 6 to 8 p.m. June 27 at the Arts Center. The reception is free to museum members, $3 for non-members
