Frederick Loy Shultz, 53, of the 4600 block of Cape Cod Circle, died at his residence Monday June 17, 1996.
He was the son of the late Chester Donald Shultz and Helen Louise Youngkin Shultz of Frederick, Md. He was the loving husband of Judith Ann McIlwee Shultz. Mr. Shultz was retired from the U.S. Navy after 27 years of service. He was a member of the Haygood United Methodist Church and Fleet Reserve Branch (NU)60.
Besides his mother and wife, Mr. Shultz is survived by two daughters, Michele Lorraine and her husband, James Moxey, Robin Marie Faulkner and her fiancee Stephen Malana, both of Virginia Beach; a son, Scott Andrew McIlwee of Edgewater, Md.; a sister, Jane McKenna and her husband, Thomas McKenna of Adamstown, Md.; four grandchildren, Jacquelyn Moxey, Lauryn Moxey, Kierstyn Moxey, Kelsey Malana, Scott McIlwee Jr.; nieces and nephews, Chris, Jennifer, Brian McKenna. Besides his loving family, he is survived by a host of shipmates and friends that will miss him also.
The funeral will be conducted in Haygood United Methodist Church Wednesday at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Allen G. Reifsnyder. A Fleet Reserve ritual will be accorded in the church. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends at the church today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society's Lost Chords or to the Haygood United Methodist Church Organ Fund. Altmeyer Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
