Elizabeth Gallagher Rammell, 66, of Alphine Rd., died June 18, 1996, at Norfolk General Hospital.
Mrs. Rammell, a native of Norfolk, graduated from Maury High School in 1949. She had an early career with Bell Telephone Company, left outside employment to raise her children, and later worked at Westminster Canterbury. For many years she was an active member of the Broad Bay Island Garden Club. She was a loving wife, mother and devoted friend.
She was predeceased by her parents, William and Elizabeth Gallagher and her brother, William. Survivors include her husband, James Rammell; her daughter, Elizabeth Harris and her husband, Selden of Austin, Tx.; a son, James Rammell and his wife, Phyllis, of Greenville, S.C.; a daughter, Anne Copeland and her husband, James, of Virginia Beach; a grandson and three granddaughters; mother-in-law, Helen Rammell of Norfolk; and an aunt, Edythe Langhorne of Norfolk.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Wycliffe Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Dr. W.M. Shelton. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Rd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wycliffe Presbyterian Church.
