NORFOLK - Carol Briggs ``Carolyn'' Williams, 53, of the 1600 block of Campostella Road, died June 16, 1996, in a local nursing home.
A native of Englewood, N.J., she was a member of Abundant Life Christian Church, Norfolk, as an active choir member and member of the church help ministry. Also, she received an appreciation award from the church.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Brooks and Hope Young, both of Norfolk; a son, Hue Anthony Rodwell of Norfolk; two sisters, Elaine Briggs of Newport News and Sylvia B. Wiggins of Raleigh, N.C.; a brother, Johnny Burrell of Raleigh; seven grandchildren; a godsister, Evelyn Granville; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Maggie Sue Rodwell and Samuel Rodwell.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday by the Rev. Donnie Small in Abundant Life Christian Church, 228 W. Berkley Ave., Norfolk. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Metropolitan Funeral Service is handling arrangements. Family and friends will assemble at 11 a.m. Saturday at 1617 Campostella Road, Norfolk, for the funeral procession to the church.
