VIRGINIA B. SPICER

Our loving mother Virginia Blackburn Spicer, 80, of the 2000 block of North St., went peacefully to be with her Lord June 20, 1996. She died in a Norfolk hospital.

Mrs. Spicer, the widow of Felton Edward Spicer, was co-owner of the Family Heating and Plumbing Business. She was a native of Portsmouth and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Gloria S. Clement of Portsmouth, Judy S. Thompson of Portsmouth; a sister, Polly B. Patterson of Portsmouth; a brother, Walter E. Blackburn of Portsmouth; two grandchildren, William J. Spicer and Benjamin J. Spicer, both of Portsmouth; and five loving nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday by the Rev. Philip J. Parker in Calvary Baptist Church. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Snellings Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel, today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and will also be at 407 Dominion Road, Portsmouth, at other times. Memorial donations may be made to Calvary Baptist Church Memorial Fund.
