A paramedic for the Southside Rescue Squad who was coordinating ambulance coverage for the South Hill portion of the Olympic Torch Relay collapsed during a relay celebration here Saturday. He was taken by ambulance to Community Memorial Health Center where he died after attempts to revive him.
Robert A. Burch, 41, of South Hill, collapsed at Dogwood Triangle Park after suffering a massive heart attack, said Betsy Sjurseth, chairwoman of the South Hill torch committee.
Most of the approximately 5,000 people were unaware of the incident. by CNB
