ABOUT 75 WORKS destined for a Friday auction benefitting Tidewater AIDS Crisis Task Force go on view today at Central Fidelity Bank in downtown Norfolk.
A free champagne reception is set for tonight from 5:30 to 8. The artists are expected to attend, and $700 in cash prizes will be given for the top works. Donating artists include Charles Sibley, Norman Goodwin, Charles Kello, Laurel Quarberg, Edna Lazaron, Stones Mason jewelers, Jack Whitlow and Steven Wolf.
Last year, the auction raised $13,000 for TACT's coffers, said Laura Laing, TACT's publicist.
The free preview show continues through Thursday at the bank at 100 World Trade Center; gallery hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
TACT's sixth annual auction begins Friday at 6:30 p.m. with a silent auction; the live auction will be at 8:30 p.m. at Ramada Madison Hotel, Granby and Freemason streets, Norfolk. Admission is $10; parking is free. For tickets, call 583-1317 or drop by Decorum, 301 W. 21st St., Norfolk. by CNB
