Winnie Mae Lankford of the 900 block of Charlotte St. died June 20, 1996, in a local nursing home.
She was born in Franklin, Va., and was a member of O'Berry A.M.E. Zion Church, Franklin. She was a retired cook for the Norfolk Naval Base.
Survivors include a brother, Robert Hugh Lankford of Franklin; three grandchildren, including Ms. Marie Johnson of Norfolk; three great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
The funeral will be conducted Thursday at 1 p.m. by the Rev. R. Taylor in O'Berry A.M.E. Zion Church, Franklin. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Graves Funeral Home is in charge. The family will assemble at the funeral home at 11 a.m. the day of the service.
