Raymond Jackson Baggett, 53, of the 4800 block of Texas Ave., Norfolk, died June 26, 1996, in Norfolk.
He was a native of Aulander, N.C., and was the son of the late Jessie and Maudrey White Baggett. He was a pipe-fitter at Naval Air Station Public Works. He was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by a sister, Okie Baggett Jenkins.
Survivors include two daughters, Tonia Byrum, and her husband, Mike, of Williamston, N.C., and Angie Hutto of Chesapeake; a sister, Emily Baggett Donaldson of Portsmouth; three brothers, Thomas Baggett and Billy S. Baggett, both of Aulander, N.C., and Joseph Baggett of Richmond; a granddaughter, Megan Hutto; and a brother-in-law, Charles Jenkins of Williamston.
A funeral will be conducted Saturday at 4 p.m. in Garrett Funeral Home, Ahoskie, N.C., by the Rev. J.N. Baggett. Burial will be in Aulander Cemetery. Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, is handling arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. after which the body will be taken to Garrett Funeral Home for visitation Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.
