FLAMES DAMAGE HOUSE ON WEST OCEAN VIEW AVENUE

Flames, above, burn through the roof of a home in the 100 block of

W. Ocean View Ave. in Norfolk on Wednesday. Firefighters said the

fire, reported at 5:08 a.m., was under control in 20 minutes. Below,

William Starboard, 68, surveys the damage to the house where he

rents an apartment. Starboard and a neighbor, Dennis Bassette,

rescued three dogs from the fire. by CNB
