Charles John Melanson, 71, of W. Pollux Circle, died June 27, 1996.
He was a native of Clinton, Mass., and was a member of Portsmouth Assembly of God. He was retired from the U.S. Navy and the Norfolk Naval Shipyard and was a veteran of World War II and Korea.
Survivors include his wife, Sara Melanson; two brothers, Edward J. Melanson of Norfolk and Vincent Melanson of Clinton, Mass.
A funeral will be conducted Saturday at 1 p.m. in Portsmouth Assembly of God by the Rev. Homer Peterson. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Boulevard Chapel today from 7 to 8 p.m.
