JUNIS B. OUTLAW

Junis Bernard Outlaw, a native of Norfolk, was born to the late Ella Braxton Kelly and James Edward Outlaw. On June 21, 1996, he departed this life to go home to be with our Lord.

Junis was a faithful member of New Calvary Baptist Church, where he served as a member of the brotherhood, and the food committee. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army, a former member of the Eureka Lodge, and worked until his retirement from the Hall Auto Mall.

Junis is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Eunice Outlaw of Norfolk; eight daughters, Carrie Gilliam, Evangelist Linda Holloman, Maureen Bunch, Pamela Williams, Robin Lampkin, all of Norfolk, Princess Williams of Virginia Beach, Crystal Dingle and Yeoman 1st Class Petty Officer Lorraine E. Anderson of the U.S. Coast Guard of Portsmouth; two adopted daughters, Doreen Pettaway of Oakland, Calif., and Gladys Urghart of San Diego, Calif.; two sons, Haskell Corry and Anthony B. Corry Outlaw of Norfolk; five sons-in-law, Raleigh Holloman, Yeoman Chief Petty Officer Robert Lampkin, Quarter Master Chief Petty Officer Rollie Anderson, Boatswain Mate First Class Richard Williams, all of the U.S. Navy, and Rev. Roosevelt Dingle of Portsmouth; three devoted sisters-in-law, Lillie Fair, Margaret Harris, both of Norfolk, and Johnsie Goodwin of Gaffney, S.C.; a brother-in-law, Samuel Harris of Norfolk; two nephews, James Collins and Horace Fair of Norfolk; a devoted cousin, Celeste Shannon of Brooklyn, N.Y.; two god daughters, A. Carolyn Johnson of Norfolk, and Judy Akers of Virginia Beach; 35 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral will be conducted at noon today in New Calvary Baptist Church by the Rev. G.G. Campbell. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. The body will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m. today. The family will be at his residence. Riddick Funeral Service is in charge.
