Evil was indeed present at the Westwood Hill Baptist Church. It was manifested in a senseless desecration.
A common irony bonds zealots. Whether blowing up airplanes and buildings or sullying the memory of fellow church members, zealots honestly believe that their actions are ordained by God or by some higher purpose, and that this ordination places them above the law and due process.
And, the misery zealots inflict and the evil they perpetrate far exceeds that which they seek to eradicate.
God save us from zealots.
